Fullframe vs. Crop
Anyone who knows me, knows that when I find out something interesting I love to share it with everyone. Being a techy gadgety guy, I always want to know tons of info about the gizmos I buy. So I research online. I go to the store only to realize the guy bagging my groceries at publix knows more about gear then the guy at Best Buy. Oh yeah back to the point. The DSLR’s that I have purchased are both great cameras. The canon 20D and the 40D take great pics. I searched through all the specs and often came across the more expensive cameras noticing the difference in megapixels. But the one thing I often overlooked was a little detail called crop factor. On the 20D and 40D there is a crop factor of 1.6. One day while shooting with Stephan we switched cameras for a moment. When I looked through his view finder I couldn’t believe the difference. We were both using the 24-70mm 2.8L but I was shooting with the 40D and he with the 5D. Now I had seen a little chart before that showed the crop factor, but that example didn’t have the same effect. So from there on out I couldn’t get full frame out of my mind. So today I don’t need to. I’m full frame baby (did I really just say that – cheese). Anyways I’m posting this image for all the newbies out there that don’t know the difference. These images are taken on a tripod with the exact same lens at 24mm, but with two separate cameras. I shot one pic, swapped the tripod mount remounted the lens on the 5D and shot the second pic. Oh and the top picture is the second shot. The bottom is the first.

Forget all the techy stuff….after reading your later post about C and K and your close encounter of a palm tree variety, I’m just enjoying the picture of your family.
