Yesterday was an awesome day and made me really appreciate this trip. I got to slip away from the Myxer booth to see a premiere of a movie called Beautiful Losers. This movie was awesome. Documenting surf, graffiti, skate and independent artists. This film encompassed many of the artists whom I look up to. It was also very humbling to see how modest the artists were in this movie. To create art for art sake. You don’t have to be into these subcultures to appreciate the movie which gives a great insight to the way many successful artists might feel and why they do it. On top of that great movie premiere it was followed by a killer showcase that night featuring Tommy Guerrero and Money Mark.

If that wasn’t enough to make it a great day I had the pleasure of seeing a concert to bring attention to a new filmed called Body of War.
So let’s see. Ben Harper, Mason Jennings, Kimya Dawson, Serj Tankian (System of a Down) and Tom Morello all sharing the stage to speak out about the war in Iraq. I will definitely be checking out what seems will be a very powerful film and very “I” opening. Check the site for the trailer.
