The world is what you make of it.
So I can’t get this off my mind and I had to take a minute to post this or I wouldn’t sleep tonight. Today was my first day back in photography mode. I had a great meeting this morning with a potential wedding gig, I launched my site, and I got back behind the lens and shot a wedding with Maloman tonight. Feels good to be back in the swing. As well as this I also took the time today to order a pallete of sod(grass) to redo my front yard. I had been putting it off for months and had received a letter from the home owners association recently during the whole accident thing letting me know I would be fined if I didn’t fix it. The sod was delivered right before I left this afternoon for the wedding and placed in my driveway. So as I pulled into my driveway this evening returning from the shoot. I noticed half the sod was missing from my pallete. Can you believe that? Gone. I can’t believe someone would steal my sod. It’s late so I can’t call anyone to complain, and I’m not going to call the police over a 75 dollar theft. I shake my head and step out of my car planting my foot into a soft cushion of grass. As I look up to disbelief, my entire front yard has been laid with sod. Placed tightly and perfectly better than I could do it myself. Someone had taken the time to sod my whole front yard while I was out. No note or clue.
It’s easy to watch the news and get the perception that the world is filled with thieves, killers, predators, and bad people. But the world isn’t, thats just what we are fed and what we watch on tv. When in fact the world is filled with kind, generous, giving, and just plain nice people. This accident has really made me much more aware that I have great friends, a wonderful family and that there is plenty of great energy in the world. Bad things do happen, but I think that human nature is to nurture, protect and help one another. My gut tells me that my neighbor Oscar and his wife Michelle are the ones that sodded my yard, and its very touching to me that they would do that. I had chatted with them right before I left for the wedding and they had mentioned they could help me tomorrow since they were sodding their yard this weekend as well, but I think this was taking that a bit further.
I like to think that I give back to the world when I can and that I give out the energy that I would like given to me. But what I have witnessed in the last month seems surreal. THANKS EVERYONE. Please smile in knowing that you make a difference in my life and many others I’m sure as well. Night.District 13 full

Good things come to great people. Nobody deserves to get something back more than you. You have always been the guys who goes out of the way to help out not just a little, you give 200% every time. Karma rocks.
Since you’re in the mood to give back, there are some areas on the inside of my house that still need to be painted. LOL. Kidding. Thanks for the great Easter dinner.
I loved reading this…”passing it forward”…that is what it is all about! Thanks for the post, we all need to be reminded of the good in the world.
Maybe they will water your lawn as well…
That has to be the third time that one of us has replaced the sod on that lawn (I did it twice.).
