Noah & Marissa Tie the Knot – English Gardens Orlando

Getting back in the saddle again bloggin. I guess it’s good when you aren’t blogging much because that usually means you are busy. Or it could mean you don’t have anything to blog. Well, thank God it’s reason number one. I’m trying to get the last of my weddings posted from 2009. I only have a few left to post– not bad for being the first week in March. But enough about my blogging or lack there of. In late November, I had the pleasure of shooting Marissa and Noah’s intimate English Garden Wedding in Orlando. Talk about some good lighting. If I could shoot every wedding outside I would. As you can see by the photos– good lighting just makes it too easy. It’s time for some sleep now. I hope you enjoy the shots.

Jimmy and Lisa: Vero Beach Hotel & Spa Wedding

I’d like to start off this post by saying that this wedding was very near and dear to me being that it was the wedding of two of my favorite people. Jimmy and Lisa are two of the most genuine and warm people I know and the second you see them it’s like you saw them yesterday. No matter how long it’s been. You might recognize Jimmy and Lisa from there infamous engagement session. There is no post on my website that I have heard so much about from people other than theirs. “Oh I loved that shoot with the track and field couple.” Can’t tell you how many moms I’ve heard that from. Well these two are rockstars in my world. As I mentioned in their first blog post Jimmy and Lisa had a brief relationship in high school that ended pretty abruptly, but found each other again randomly one faithful night over a decade later. Can you say “serendipity”. As you may notice in the pictures below. When these two lock eyes you can feel the entire world stop around them like some weird scene in a science fiction movie. Time stands still for these two. Every wedding I shoot I get kind of a warm fuzzy feeling when the bride joins her groom at the alter but at this wedding by eyes actually welted up. No worries I dried my eyes and got my focus back (grin). As Jimmy and Lisa have a lot of friends there was no shortage of insanely big smiles in the seats surrounding them. All around just a joyous occasion. One other notable moment that I just have to mention was Jimmy and his Mom’s dance to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man. By far the coolest song I have heard yet at a wedding for this dance. Congrats once again Jimmy and Lisa and thank you for the honor of letting me capture your wedding day. Mary and Kellan – Boca Lago Country Club Wedding

Back in December I had the pleasure of shooting Mary and Kellan’s Boca Lago Country Club Wedding on a drizzly Saturday afternoon. While the day might have started out with a bit of a damper. You would have never known it by the looks on Mary and Kellan’s faces. They have to be two of the most enjoyable spirits to be around. These two never stop smiling. Not even for a second. Seriously I watched, like a hawk no doubt for 10 hours. They never fell short of offering anything but joy to anyone and everyone around them. Thanks for letting me be part of your day guys. Noah and Marissa’s Engagement Session: The Farm

I think I mentioned how crazy my Thanksgiving was in an earlier post. If not here is the recap. Early morning engagement session in Hollywood Beach, drove to Orlando, dinner at Father-In-Laws farm, all followed by a sunset engagement session. Below are some of the shots from the sunset shoot. While we didn’t have a tremendous amount of time to shoot. We did have fun as always and get some gems. Special thanks to Dr. Diaz for letting us use the farm for our location. Enjoy

Tali and Maor: Westin Diplomat Wedding

Just getting used to this new blog and getting ready to unleash a plethora of posts. Today I’m posting Tali and Maor’s Westin Diplomat wedding which was a ton of fun. One great thing about this wedding was the ability to shoot the first look. Since this wedding was in November. Daylight savings time was going to put a hurt’n on my ability to get some great shots of the two of them. That’s why I love when a bride and groom are willing to do the first look ahead of time. Not only does it alleviate the rush of trying to shoot them after the ceremony with very little natural light, but they get to spend some time alone and take it all in. Well some what alone at least. Another notable bonus is they can go to the cocktail and get some of those tasty hors d’oeuvres. I After the first look I like to take couple around and shoot them for a bit. Most of the time I try stay a good distance away with the long lens and let them have some great moments. Enjoy.

Crazy to see videographers using still cameras like the 5D Mark II to shoot video for the wedding.

I love the Westin Diplomat’s fountains out front. These things shoot water 3 stories up in the air.

Sarah and Steve Engagement – Crandon Park, Key Biscayne

So much to post so few waking hours. A few months ago I got an email from Sarah saying that she was coming down from Kentucky for Thanksgiving and were going to share the news of their recent engagement with the family. All the planets aligned which set up for a great morning for a shoot. I myself had never been to Crandon Park, and what a cool place it is. Beautiful extra wide and long pristine beach, an old zoo with monkey cages, and tons of beautiful birds around every nook and crany. To top it off a great couple to spend the morning with. Stephanie and Dave – Thanksgiving Engagement Session

Did I have a whirlwind of a Thanksgiving weekend. I’m often booked by couples that live outside of South Florida so it can be tricky getting the time right for an engagement session. Sometimes clients even turn them down, but I’m am definitely one to insist. It’s just a great time for us to get to know each other and for me to prod and poke to get just the right expressions out of my clients. I would like to thank Stephanie and Dave for getting up at the crack of dawn on Thanksgiving day none the less for us to bond. Following this session I jetted off with the family to Orlando to enjoy thanksgiving with my wife’s awesome side of the family. After a delicious feast of food provided by Dr. Diaz my father-in-law. He was gracious enough to let one of me shoot my friends engagement session on his farm (stay tuned for that one). Needless to say I slept well that night. Enjoy

Erika and Tom – Tie the Knot

The more I shoot, the more I realize anyone can take a picture. Every wedding I see more and more family and friends firing away with their handy dandy DSLRs, and more power to everyone. In fact I’m always willing to throw a tip or two out to Uncle Bob. Anyways, what I’m trying to say is that great cameras are easily accessible to everyone and almost anyone can get a few great images. But what I think makes a great photographer is how you make people feel while you are shooting them. Make them smile. Make them forget you are “taking their soul only to be frozen in time for everyone to see”. Making people feel comfortable is more important than F-stops, fancy cameras, and photoshop. So the next time you take someone’s photograph. Don’t say “cheese”. Say something to make them smile. Enjoy.

Lisa and Jimmy – Engaged

Two posts in less than a week. I’m back with avengence. Tonight I have the pleasure of posting the engagement session of two of my and many other’s favorite people. Jimmy and Lisa are just two of those people who you always get excited to hang out with and they always have yummy appetizers. These two met in high school only to have circumstances detour their destiny. Almost 15 years later they were reunited by a chance meeting on a night out with friends. Well guys. I’m glad you found your way back to each other because you make an awesome team. Enjoy
